I can get a new breastpump free- get a PISA or freestyle?

DS is 5 months. I ebf, I wohm 3x a week, and pump while at work. I currently have a medela PISA that I got when he was born (also free , my insurance covered it). We just started new insurance, and I am 100% covered for a breastpump. I think I am going to get a secodn one, will leave one at work, that way I wont have to drag one back and forth. get another PISA or get a freestyle?

Absolutely the Freestyle!

LOVED mine! So small, can carry in your regular work bag or leave in a drawer at work, has the hands free attachments to put on your own nursing bra, does not need to be plugged in (I used to charge it 1-2 times per week and I pumped 2-3 times a day for 30 minutes each time).

FREESTYLE! Best pump for working moms IMO


The pump itself is TINY! It makes it super easy to do hands-free because it comes with clips that can attach to virtually any nursing bra. When I was renting a pump from the hospital, I bought a hands-free bra to use... but it was much more difficult and it required changing into that bra before pumping... which at work, takes away from time that you could be pumping.

It also has the option of using the battery OR plugging in. I charge mine 1x/week and that lasts me the WHOLE WEEK with pumping 3x/day at work for 18 minutes each session.

It also comes in a really cute black bag that's very discreet!

Also, it comes with a little case that has as special-shaped ice pack so you can fit 4 bottles in there.

It has a timer on it also so you can see how long you have been pumping for - and you can set it so that it does the stimulation phase for X minutes and the whatever strength pumping you want... (so you can start off at level 4 and then after 2 minutes go to level 5 or whatever... it has a little memory - kwim?)

In some, the pump is connected to the bag. With the freestyle, you can take the pump out... it's SUPER small!


I BF'd/pumped for a year with the freestyle. It was great!
