I cannot believe this hair straightener
I bought a hair straightener from Marshals. I open the package and a label hanging from the plug wire caught my eye what did it say?????
 Warning there is lead contained in the wire of this product that has been linked to birth defects and other problems in the State of California!!!!!! Wash hands after use!
I can't believe these people sell this product.
I freaked out and put it back in the box and scrubbed my hands!!
I will be returning it today!

well, first of all, do you live in CA? they have much, much stricter environmental laws than most other states - and those types of warnings are VERY common and really nothing to worry about (IMO).
lead, however, seems strange to me, and if i were you i might return it too...
but it's in the wires, which are covered, right? so what are the chances you'll even be exposed to it?

Now that I think about it...there was a thing when I was PG with G about Christmas lights having lead in the wires......

I purchased some outdoor lights last year from Target, they were flowers and butterflies, and went to open the box and found that warning attached to all of the wires in each box! I returned all of them, I was very surprised by that too.

i bought a disney princess fishing pole for DD from Target and when i got home DH notice the same warning (i did not). that sucker got pitched...
