Re: I can't believe I'm writing this-Wal-Mart incident.
Please don't give her another minutes thought. Honestly, she is not worth the time and energy expended writing and thinking about her.
I will however, share a wonderful mommy story that happened to me. LAst summer, I was having dinner with my family after a particular long , harried day. My then 5 year old spilled her water no less than 4 times and I guess it was clear from both my tone and face that I was done. Suddenly, a woman in her fifties, having dinner with her grown daughter, buys me a glass of wine and comes over to tell me what a beautiful family I have and that it was just water. Her kindness and tone completely changed my day and how I processed it and I told her I would definitely pay her kindness forward. I have in fact, on two separate occasions, done so. Both times it was in Starbucks when moms with two young kids were just exasperated and had it. Both times I picked up their drinks and did it ever feel good to make them smile. Sorry I didn't run into you in Starbucks today because it definitely would have been my treat.

*****!?
to you for sticking up for yourself & for the lady that came out to help you! I hope next time the RN will think twice before giving her opinon on parenting.
Also if they aren't supposed to cry for more than 7 minutes, than clearly she's going to be sleep deprived because she'll never CIO a child. Here's wishing her many, many children.

Re: I can't believe I'm writing this-Wal-Mart incident.
Like confronting you is going to help the situation??!!
I can sympathize, I also have a "reflux baby" I took him out to a diner at 5 PM and he had a meltdown. my DH took him out to the vestibule. this old lady was telling my I shouldn't have him out he is too small, it's past his bedtime took everything I had not to say anything to her.

Re: I can't believe I'm writing this-Wal-Mart incident.
Thanks everyone! I really was so angry. I know I'm a good mom. Perfect no but who is.
The funny thing is anyone who knows me knows that I almost never let my kids cry, especially not at 11 weeks old but sometimes it's all you can do when you're out doing something with no help.
I mean I'm unfit because I hold my all day long, I'm a human pacifier, he sleeps in bed next to me? Jesus. I don't know how much more attentive to him I could be.
I really feel like maybe she was crazy and not a real "RN". I mean who says "RN" anyway? Most people would say nurse..no? She was older, probably 45-50 so who knows if she ever had kids or not.
It was bizarre that's for sure!

Re: I can't believe I'm writing this-Wal-Mart incident.
Good for you! Women like this should be ashamed of themselves. I have had a few run ins of my own, and it always shocks me that the accusers are always women - its horrifying.
She could have asked you if there was anything you needed, if she could help you in any way - but confronting you only made the situation worse!!
She is a waste - you are a GREAT mom and don't let her upset you too much. she is a nut!

Re: I can't believe I'm writing this-Wal-Mart incident.
HORRIBLE... just horrible. And THIS Is exactly why women don't rule the world, though they are the far more superior race Because we insist on tearing each other down, instead of solidifying each other.
Shame on her, and good for you for standing up for yourself

Re: I can't believe I'm writing this-Wal-Mart incident.
Yeah, I know exactly what you are going through. I had a crazy lady at Stop and Shop one day. Please brush it off and don't let it hurt you. There are people in this world that get off by making people feel like crap.
You are a WONDERFUL mother and don't let anyone tell you different.
BTW...that nice women should be . We should learn from her and how we could all comfort each other when an insane person tries to hurt us.

Ugh! I wish I knew where that nurse worked. I would go to her hospital/doctors and tell her superiors about her behavior. That's disgusting!
I'm glad you were met with some kindness during that incident. For every assss out there, there are far more kind people in this world.

***!?!?
people just need to learn how to keep their mouths SHUT. i hate to constantly think twice as to what i do in public because someone just may call CPS on my ***, but sadly this is the world we live in. it really pisses me off...
this woman sounds a bit disturbed though, so i really would not think twice about it!

Re: I can't believe I'm writing this-Wal-Mart incident.
OMG. I think your reaction was warranted and that a woman who is an RN should know better. What did she think she would accomplish? Who the fargh is she to tell you based on a whopping 15 minute encounter that you are an unfit mother?
I am glad someone came to help & offer some kind words. It lets us know that the whole world is not insane
