Also if they aren't supposed to cry for more than 7 minutes, than clearly she's going to be sleep deprived because she'll never CIO a child. Here's wishing her many, many children.Chat Icon

I'm just in shock! Who would do that? It's just a crying baby, not a crying baby left unattended in a car!

Obviously this woman is not a mom. I think we've all had screaming babies in a store at one time or another.

An RN?? WOW... she did not listen in her psychology classes or maybe it was an elective she needed to take. As an RN, her 1st reaction should have been to ask you if YOU were OK and if she could help. NOT lecturing you!

I would have lost it also!

Please don't give her another minutes thought. Honestly, she is not worth the time and energy expended writing and thinking about her.

I will however, share a wonderful mommy story that happened to me. LAst summer, I was having dinner with my family after a particular long , harried day. My then 5 year old spilled her water no less than 4 times and I guess it was clear from both my tone and face that I was done. Suddenly, a woman in her fifties, having dinner with her grown daughter, buys me a glass of wine and comes over to tell me what a beautiful family I have and that it was just water. Her kindness and tone completely changed my day and how I processed it and I told her I would definitely pay her kindness forward. I have in fact, on two separate occasions, done so. Both times it was in Starbucks when moms with two young kids were just exasperated and had it. Both times I picked up their drinks and did it ever feel good to make them smile. Sorry I didn't run into you in Starbucks today because it definitely would have been my treat. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

What an A**HOLE! She obviously doesn't have children!! RN, probably stood for Raging Nut. Show me where in any textbook it says anything about no more than 7 mins of crying?! Good for you for telling her off! Sorry you even had to deal with her!Chat Icon

OMG! I'm so sorry that happened to you. The lady may have thought she was being "helpful" but she crossed a line IMO. It's so easy to say what another parent should do, less easy to deal with when you're actually in that situation. She should have kept her mouth shut.
