Surprisingly enough, I haven't seen the one question we usually see in these situations, which is....."does anyone know if Smith Haven Mall is open? Why does bad weather always bring out the need to go to the mall the day after?
They were posting FB this morning how they were planning on opening at 1 and they had so many angry responses from employees lol. They ended up not opening today.
Good! One of my good friend's DH works at Apple at Smith Haven they were so pissed mall was open. But Apple was going to remain closed regardless if the mall was open or not.

Good for them! Considering there is a driving ban in Brookhaven right now it seems silly to try and open the mall.

Worse case scenario it's going to rain next week and be in the 40s.
So maybe by then you'll be able to get out.
Plows or no plows.
Storm of the century or not.
I don't think we'll be trapped for a week.
And everyone stocked on bread and milk right?

My 4 yr old DD last night says, "You know what would be awesome Mommy? Since there is so much snow out we should just go shopping at the mall".  Yea right.
She was sad to hear it was closed.........not that I would've gone anyway.

We are in Centereach and got almost 3 feet. Haven't seen a plow yet anywhere. Luckily we have nowhere to be today or we'd be screwed.
Same here....in centereach and still unplowed

Ive never seen anything like it....this was my parents street today. They are at the valley of two VERY steep hills. One plow got stuck in front of their house for HOURS. The town sent another plow to get the stuck one out, and THAT one got stuck. Finally they sent a pay loader to come dig the road out so the plows could get out. What you see here is looking up there road, and its normally a VERY VERY VERY steep hill. Image Attachment(s):
