i cant for the life of me figure why my 14 month old....
takes only 1 nap that lasts only 1 to 1 1/2 hrs... she refuses the take a second nap....its so frustrating!
Every book and person i talk to says that she should be taking a 2-3 hr long nap or 2 naps at least

Sabrina is 14 months as well and she dropped to one nap in the fall. She usually naps anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5 hrs. I wouldn't stress if DD seems happy and she sleeps enough at night.
I read somewhere that babies usually wake up when they are ready and not when we think they should be ready

It sounds normal to me. My older DD dropped to one nap around 11-12 months and its length was about 1 hour and 15 minutes, until she decided to torture me and make it 45 minutes throughout my 2nd pregnancy. She's 2.5 now and sleeps about 90 minutes.

DD is 15 months and has been taking one nap for about 3 months now. The time ranges from 1 hr to 2 tops.
And she only sleeps about 10 hours a night- definately not what the book says

That's b/c she hasnt read the book!!!! (sorry I couldnt resist)
As a mom to many children I can honestly tell you that most kids arent textbook,
If it's working for her and she isnt overly tired then she is getting enough sleep..
Maybe she sleeps longer at night???? Perhaps limiting her 1 nap to 45 minutes and try getting her to take another???

Lukie sleeps from 8-7, USUALLY takes 1 1 1/2-2 hour nap a day if we go out around 3 he will sleep in the car. Too much to take in to sleep

My DS........your DD's boyfriend  sleeps 8-6:30 and takes a nap anywhere between 1 1/2 - 3 hours, but usually 2 hrs, but you know that.

Same with Bella. This kid used to sleep 12-13 hour and now it's 10 if we're lucky. It's normal for them to drop a nap at that age.
