I CAN'T TAKE THIS ANYMORE...she's sick every 2 weeks!
I really am starting to feel like throwing in the towel here. My daughter gets sick every 2 weeks and is sick with a stomach virus once again. 2 weeks ago was Roseola, 2 weeks before that was bronchitis, 2 weeks before that was the flu.....
She is 11 months old and in day care, yet I don't see any of the other children in her class getting sick like this. The pediatrician keeps saying she is fine and its to be expected, but then how come none of the other children are this sick??? Is it that the other parents are bringing their kids to class sick? I really like the other parents, and nothing against them, but i am at my wit's end.
This past Wed she swallowed her earring. Then that night she started vomiting. We rushed her to the ER cause the dr. said the earring could be causing a blockage. Then the diarrhea started....turns out to be a BIG COINCIDENCE...she got a stomach VIRUS the SAME DAY she swallowed her stupid earring. hen she got fever and we had to stay in the hospital with her and she was put on an IV.
She still hasn't pooped out the earring and tomorrow we have to go back for another xray to see if it moved. If not, then she may need surgery.
Oh, and the diarrhea and vomitingjust stopped TODAY.....so far.

Awww your poor little girl... I am so not looking forward to DS getting sick at daycare...I know I have to brace myself for it though...

My DS was sick every 2 weeks also. CONSTANT COUGH, never got better. I have since moved him to a smaller family day care, and it is sooooo much better for him healthwise...I loved the big center, but my poor baby was just so sick.

Oh I'm so sorry I wonder if there is a possibility if it is all connected. When I was very young I got the flu and was so sick and was out of school for over a week, than back for about 2-3 days, then out again with a middle ear infection, then back in school and out again with the flu again. They tested me the first time for strep and it was negative - it turns out the whole time I had strep and it just didn't show a positive result for almost 3-4 weeks. Is it possible she has something that is causing relapses?
I will say a prayer for a speedy recovery

throw in 7 ear infections and that is me
and if i hear from one more person how he will be the healthiest child in school i will scream

Thats terrible, so much to deal with in such a short amount of time! but there isn't really too much you can do, aside from taking every precaution you can. Washing her hands the minute you leave, checking the toy cleaning policies of the day care or bring in her own toys to play with, make sure all her cups are sanitized and maybe you can ask the day care to limit her sippy cups to table time and/or binkie (if she uses one) to crib time if they don't already.. I do have to say.......My DS was in daycare from 3 mos until 18 mos and even with everything I tried to do was sick often, now that he is either home with me or being watched by family he hardly ever gets sick.
