I can't understand how some people drive.
I just don't get it.
I never really drove too much before taking the job I'm currently at so I didn't see as much of what happens....I seriously get heart palpitations at least once a week either driving home or driving to work.
I'm not a slow driver OR a bad driver - I've never gotten a speeding ticket, but I don't get horned or lights flashed at me either. I consider myself to be a safe and considerate driver. I stick to the right lane and don't multitask.
I saw yet ANOTHER accident on my way home today...a cute little 2-seater convertible smashed into the center median head on.
Over the weekend, I actually called the # on one of those "How am I driving" bumper stickers...the stupid tow truck driver was passing people on the RIGHT, in the SHOULDER! Not even on the road....at 70+ MPH. The truck was empty, his lights were not flashing...... why all the rush? He pulled into McDonald's! I got, "Thank you, we'll handle it."
I'm glad that idiot in the zippy little mazda with the spinners that zoomed by me nearly clipping my bumper got pulled over by that unmarked car. I actually smiled with satisfaction.
What is the big rush?!?!?
Do people genuinely feel that they are invincible!!
UGH!!!!!!
annnnd I'm done.

p.s. STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN A CALL FROM THE MANAGER.
I'm starting to hate this place, and I'm in the middle of writing a nice opinion letter....

I am totally with you......So many arrogant and rude drivers out there. I thought people down here in NC would be better, but they are by FAR worse than NY.....The Beltline is like a free-for-all....
I, like you, drive in the right lane and the fastest I'll go is 70. I get people ON MY BUMPER almost every day. I am cut off every day......I can't figure it....Are they ALL running late for work?

Re: I can't understand how some people drive.
YES! People DO feel that they and their cars are indestructable. Well, their assinine behavior effects MY life!!!
I hate how other people drive. One time, a truck was backing into a warehouse (I live in a very industrial neighborhood) and some jerk decided he didn't want to wait and as soon as he had a LITTLE bit of room, he went to go around the truck. Well, the truck didn't see him and was still swinging his front around and slam right into the guy. His car was totaled. Needless to say, what I normally would have waited 2 minutes for, I now had to wait 45.
Also, why do people feel that they do not need to obey RED LIGHTS

It makes me very nervous- and I too have had the experience of being in the right lane, doing the speed limit or even a little above, and having some jerk ride on my tail.
They just arrested the kid who hit and killed a doctor and left the scene last year. I hope he goes away for a long time.

This continues to floor me too. Whenever I drive to work (and I leave early in the morning), I inevitably find myself at a red light next to someone who decides that red lights are "optional" for him. It makes me INSANE.

This was me once, and it was NOT my fault. I narrowly escaped DYING b/c some azzhole didn't signal to switch lanes and cut me off in the pouring rain. My wheel locked and I did a 360 as I sailed across 3 lanes of LIE traffic. It's a freakin' miracle no one else hit me. There were tons of cars on the road.
So I TOTALLY feel your frustration with bad drivers. I cross two VERY busy roads walking to and from the train station every day. One is Sunrise Hwy. People look at me like I'm nuts b/c I don't cross against the light. Um, well, that's b/c I don't want to die, jackass.
Seriously, people need to STFU (get off their phones!), stop texting / emailing, and concentrate on driving. Oh yeah, 20mph over the speed limit is NOT good driving.
Sorry, Shorty -- just had to add to your vent. This is a huge pet peeve of mine!

Wait, you missed the memo? Red lights don't apply to everyone. On a scale of 1 to 10, you must be a jackazz on at least a 7.5 to run the lights.
That clear it up?
