I crossed the finish line laughing and crying at the same time!
At the Blazing Trails 4 mi Run for autism last year my time was 46:30. I figured I would be realistic and aim for 45 or under. As I hit the finish line I couldn't believe when I saw the numbers. I completed the race in 43:37 with a 10:55 pace which is my best ever. I am so proud of myself. Running and I have a love hate thing going but I always come back to it and surprise myself everytime I do. What I was happiest about was how strong I felt the entire time. Which means a little voice in my head suggested taking a 10k plunge finally.....

That's amazing!!!!! Congrats!! what an awesome feeling... you did great, and for such a great cause!!! It really is a wonderful feeling to cross the finish line, especially after such a tough course with all those hills!!! I ran it as well (I came 3rd in the Athena division... I was shocked when they called my name, I hadn't even realized it) and I was so happy to see so many people there for this cause, we had a beautiful day for a run!!!

Congrats! That is so awesome!! I love that feeling of surprising yourself with running. I think I have the same love hate relationship.
You should definitely go for a 10k!

Thanks everyone - anyone have suggestions for a fun 10K that won't kill me? The Cow Harbor stories scared me away - but if there is a nice one for 10K virgins, I might give it a shot...
