I don't know how it happened...
But, somehow, I think my daughter has finally overcome her colic
In all seriousness though... I think she's finally over "it" - the temper tantrums, the screaming, the crying, the waking at all hours in the night.
8 months ago, I had a baby that cried and fussed all day, held a temper tantrum everytime I said no, slapped me on the face every chance she had, screamed bloody murder every time I put her down in her crib, and woke up at least 2 times a night crying.
Now, she asks to go sleepytime, and lays down in her crib wide awake, without making a peep, I walk out, and she falls asleep on her own - and this is for nighttime AND naps!
She sleeps for 12-13 uninterrupted hours a night
I can't remember the last time she had a temper tantrum, or started screaming for no reason
She says "please" and "thank you" for everything, pets sparky gently, and gives him hugs, asks for her grandpa everyday, and plays nicely with her neighbor everyday after school.
She says Hi to anyone who walks by her, hugs and kisses every little toddler and baby at school, and plays nicely with everyone, AND at the end of the day, she runs to me with a big smile, hugs me, kisses me, and says MOMMY MOMMY MOMMY
Now, don't get me wrong - she is still OOZING with personality - but now it's just entertaining, sweet, and downright hysterical, instead of trying.
So, for all those mommies who are in the thick of dealing with colic, temper tantrums and "spirited" children, and feel like this is your life for the rest of your life - have hope - my relentlessly difficult baby has turned into an absolute dream. This truly is the best age

Yay! It's such good news to hear that you can truly enjoy every moment with your DC without worrying about a meltdown. I had a colicky baby and now at 7 months she's just a fusspot most of the time. I am anxiously awaiting her transition into the "dream child". Through you, I have hope!

We feel like we are going through the same thing with Sydney right now, too. She is so much fun and knock on wood, so much better.

That's great! You certainly deserve it. Maybe she's finally rewarding you for putting up with 8 months of colic.

Re: I don't know how it happened...
Beth, that is great you give hope to all the mommies with colicy babies, that's for sure (I really needed to see this a few months ago when my DS was in full blown colic mode )
Your DD sounds adorable!
