I don't know what I should do
I am having surgery next Friday and I currently have a sinus infection. I am trying to fight it without going to the doctor for escaping the doctor and prescription copay and also I am afraid if I am on antibotics they won't do the surgery thinking I am sick. On the other hand I don't know if I should go to the doctor b/c I don't get rid of this they won't do the surgery.

I would go to the Dr. They won't do it if you are sick and the antibiotics would knock it out of you before next week.
Feel better

Re: I don't know what I should do
IMHO I think you really should go to the doctor, more-so because you are having surgery. Maybe he can give you antibiotics like Zithromax that will only be needed for 5 days. If they DO decide to postpone the surgery because of this, well, then it's for a reason and for the best (with your health in mind). I'm not sure, but they may be actually ok w/ you being on antibiotics for the surgery. It's better than risking it getting worse, you know? Then it won't help annything anyway.

Definately go to the Dr. and get your sinus infection treated! I had a similar issue right before my Spinal Fusion and I was damned if I was going to have to had reschedule that.

I would go to the docs because it could turn into something worse if not treated with antibiotics. It will also be gone within days with the antibiotics and you will feel better within 24 hours and not be miserable.

yup I agree Jess. I would go. I hate those frigen copays too but at least they can set you up with the antibiotics and then you can be good to go. plus you want to feel on top of your game before you go in for the surgery, you know?

Re: I don't know what I should do
I would go to the MD. Most surgeons have you take antibiotics prior to surgery anyways, as a precaution, so it wouldn't be abnormal for you to be on antibiotics.
I would be more concerned that they wouldn't want to do the surgery if they see your are sick and not on any antibiotics.

Re: I don't know what I should do
You need to go to the dr - if you have a sinus infection you will need antibiotics and the longer you wait the bigger chance you will be sick and they won't do the surgery. You don't want to chance a surgery either and pretend to be healthy that is a risk you could end up with something much worse. It is better to postpone the surgery and be healthy than to take a chance that you could end up much sicker. If you go to the dr and need meds maybe you can knock it out of your system before your surgery.
Feel better soon!!!
