I don't know who to be mad at or what to do... but Im mad. - UPDATE NEED ADVICE

Derek has a 2002 E350 van. In 2006 we put a new fuel tank in it because the insides were rusting. Fine, it's something that can happen with diesel vehicles... SHOULDN'T happen but it did.

FF to a week ago when Derek was driving upstate. The van died. He was on the side of the road in PA on Interstate 81. Luckily he had his truck so the people in the van loaded into the truck and off they went leaving the van with a mechanic... of course $600 later for the tow and inital diagnosis, a rusty fuel tank.

SOOOO Derek just got off the phone with the Ford dealer where the inital mechanic took it to in PA. They are telling him that there is a ring inside the fuel tank so it looks like someone sabatoged the tank. Poured a foriegn substance in it... which I find HIGHLY improbably. DH had the van in the back of our house the day before he went upstate and it ran perfectly fine until they were in NJ.

Now 11 months after spending $1700 to get new fuel tank installed in the van we have to spend another $1700 for the same f'n thing. Oh don't forget about the $600 to the tow truck driver.

I love America, I'm a very proud American-- I TRY to do the right thing by our Country in every way that I can-- but I will NOT buy an American car. I love this Country, don't get me wrong, but money doesn't grow on trees. My parents were the same way- always bought Domestic- and always had problems-- until one car had SO many problems that my Dad had had enough.

I'm so sorry- that must be SO frustrating.

UPDATE - Ford will NOT pay for it again. It is a commonly known problem that their gas tanks on the 2002 E350's delaminate causing the tanks to rust which is exactly what happened again. They will not give us any help because the tank, although within the 12 month period is 400 miles over warranty... 400 MILES.

My DH needs someone to yell at/talk to... Ford customer service is crap. NO service. Help me!!
