I don't think my milk supply is keeping up with DS's increased appetite.

DS always seems hungry after BFing. It seems like my milk supply isn't keeping up with him. We are going through my frozen milk reserves. Actually it seems more like we are wasting my frozen milk reserves. He seems like he always wants more boob but if I offer him bottle milk afterwards, he rejects. I don't know if he is hungry or just using me as a pacifier. He seems hungry though.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Try to pay attention to the type of suck he is doing. A comfort suckle will feel different then a hungry suckle. My ds would have hung out on the boob day and night if I had let him. I ended up giving him a Soothie pacifier because I could take it anymore. If your ds is truly hungry he will drink the bottle since he is refusing I thing you are the human binkie Chat Icon Chat Icon When you first put him to the breast pay attention to his mouth and listen for the gulping. If at the end he drinking differently then he is just looking for comfort.

What makes you think that DS is still hungry? Some babies just like to suck b/c it soothes them. Do you offer a pacifier? If he rejects the bottle, he's probably not hungry.

Have you tried giving him the paci after? Why do you think he's still hungry.
I have to supplement my DS and let me tell you if he is still hungry after BF he takes that bottle with no second thoughts!

at 2 mo, DS was always hungry... I increased my formula supplement from 8 oz a day to over 15 Chat Icon

Within the subsequent 7 weeks, he grew from 0-3 mo to 6-9 mo clothing Chat Icon

on the flipside, DS NEVER rejected the bottle. He needed to eat continually.

Definitely try the pacifier......
