I feel bad for the dog
My parents have a dog, but i'm very close with her. She even comes and spends the weekends with me occasionally...Anyway, she is very attached to me, and i give her tons of attention When my husband kisses me, she goes crazy and tries to intervene (it pretty funny)...She is very jealous. I'm just scared of how she'll be when my baby comes...I hope she is good around the baby....My mom will be watching the baby two days a week, i just hope the dog acts nice towards my baby. I still plan on paying attention to the dog after baby, but i hope she handles it ok. Did anyone else deal with this.

Re: I feel bad for the dog
This happened when my mom was pregnant with me Anytime my dad would go and kiss or hug or touch my mom, the dog would bark and growl at my dad. THe dog would also try to jump on my moms stomach ALL time time - like he was trying to protect her. They had to get rid of the dig because the vet said it would only get worse when I was born. (Mind you this was almost 30 years ago) I think that is why my brother and sister resented me so much - because my mom had to get rid of bingo!! lol

Re: I feel bad for the dog
What breed is your parents' dog? That can play a huge role too.
Our dog has been more protective of my since I got PG...DH is his bestest friend in the world and our pup lights up when DH enters the room, BUT he barks and growls at him when he gets angry over football, Madden or really anything that makes him show anger. It's pretty amusing for me, but I know DH hates it. I am not worried though b/c our dog will be amazing with .

Re: I feel bad for the dog
We have a Pomeranian who will be 4 by the time the baby is born.
She is pretty protective over me, but as far as aggression is concerned she'll only bark or growl, never bite/snip.
I'm not too worried about her around the baby.
But I do feel bad that she will be taking a back seat in our lives. I hope she knows we still love her.
