I feel like i'm doing something wrong...

I *think* I have the mixing of Menopur down, but I keep getting the feeling that i'm not getting all of the meds in my skin. When I went to to the second injection, liquid from the first injection came shooting out of the needle when I pushed down the syringe to get the little droplet up. It wasn't a ton, but enough to make me think- oh, $hit! The second injection didn't burn going in like the first one did, so I feel like it wasn't even going in- but it wasn't dripping down or anything. Also- there's always big air bubbles at the end of the syringe, not the needle end- the other end, that I can't get to float up.

I'm just nervous that i'm doing something wrong.

I'm confused? What are you doing 2 injections of?

2 menopur each night.

Ok, don't freak out because I may be confused about what your doing or maybe they told you to do something different but I've always only done 1 injection. Mixing all the vials of menopur into one syringe and doing one injection. Not one vial, one injection, next vial, another injection.

Yeah, you really don't need to do two injections of Menopur. Draw the 1ml of fluid into the syringe, inject into the first bottle, draw it back up and inject into the second bottle - switch needles and inject.

As far as the droplets of fluid, don't worry, there's not enough meds in there to make a difference.

ugh- so I AM doing it wrong.

They didn't tell me anything! They just said do 2 menopur and 1 dex pill a night for the next 4 nights. They didn't tell me how or anything. I just followed the instructions in the meds and repeated it for the second injection.

They have all the injections on this site. Maybe you should just give it a review and see how you are doing it.

Did you go to the teaching class?? There also used to be instructions in the IVF packet. You can mix up to 6 vials at a time in one injection.

It really shouldn't make a difference but you might want to call your nurse to let her know what you've been doing.

I did. She said it was fine- just more work for me, and to just do it the other way for the rest of the 2 nights.
