I feel really bad....Am I cold?
So today is my second day back at work and I thought I would be thinking about DD non-stop and I'm not. I think about her here and there and that's it. Am I bad mommy?

why would you be a bad mommy? You are focusing on other aspects of your life at work. I am sure at home you are all about your little one. How is she doing in day care?

No at all!
If it makes you feel any better, I didn't really start missing DS until my 2nd week back at work!  Maybe that was when the reality of work hit me?

i've been back at work for 3 months now and I still feel like you do. It's not that I don't miss him because I do. But during the day I am wrapped up in work stuff that it keeps my mind off of it. By the end of the day I start to get a little anxious to get home and see him. I guess its normal.

She starts 2/4. My mom is watching her for the rest of the month. Maybe its bc I'm not worried about her bc my mom is with her...

This is how it was for me. DH took over when I went back to work and I found that I was okay getting through my days. By the time he started daycare I was sort of back into the routine already so it was easier.
The hard part, for me, is after we have had a long weekend or if he has been sick. It's those times that I have a hard time being at work and think about him constantly.

No you are not a bad mommy...I have never been one of those moms who call twice (or even once) a day to check on the kids. Unless they had a bad night or morning, I usually don't call.

same here. I never call. The only time I call is to just talk to my Mom not to actually see how Andrew is doing.

Trust me when she goes to daycare you will think of her. But after 2 weeks you'll be fine!!!
It's better you don't think of her too much in the beginning. You'll be able to concentrate more and to be sincerely content at work. She is in good hands wether she is with grandma or day care!!!

not at all... i'm the same way. at work, it gets really busy, so i hardly even get a chance to think of DS. when mil watches him, DH calls to see how he is doing (1 phone call). i don't want to call mil a million times a day, so i let DH make that 1 call just to make sure everything's ok.

I was the same way! Listen, we're all different and that's OK. I don't think I ever *missed* DD while at work, but the thought of her would definitely put a smile on my face  Oh, and I never called once in 18 months!!
