I felt so old the other day in class.........
This girl in my group was saying how she graduated college in '05
I was like OMG I am old...I graduated in '99

uh, you just graduated in 2003, thats pretty recent! I graduated in 2004, and I dont think im a ditz  i actually work FT and go to grad school and am not aprofessional student like most of my classmates.

And the other people in my group too and they were all like well how old are you and I said I would be 30 in August and they said...wow you don't look THAT old

i have a few people in my classes that are in their 50s! i love it!
i dont think 30 is old.
but, we do have fun messing with the 20 year olds in the program

My last grad program seemed to be a second career choice for so many and I felt YOUNG (at 30) but now I'm in class with people who are all in their early 20's and I feel old and out of place.

I graduated from college in '99, and in my masters in counseling that I completed last year I always felt really old in comparison to my classmates who were just out of college, many with no work experience, now going for my doctorate I'm one of the babies of the program at 29 years old. I think its just perspective and life experience. Someone just out of college couldn't have the 7-8 years of experience that we have...and now I have nowhere near the experience of my 40+ year old classmates - some of whom have already put their kids through college.
