I finalized my surgery today
for my foot.
I have a bunion on my right foot which has been causing me extreme pain when I walk.
I will be having surgery in two weeks on 4/4. The Dr said recovery would be about 2 weeks. I will have to see about work. I will stay home the first few days and my daughter will stay with me then after that I will probably go back but do almost no walking. Considering I usually walk all over the building all day that will be tough.

Thanks everyone. I was thinking of going back to work after a few days maybe on light duty BUT muy job usually requires me to be on my feet walking alot around my building & one of the guys I work with has been being a real jerk & disappears for long periods so I coulds see me getting stuck running on calls so I decided today that I AM taking the time (2weeks) off that the Dr seemed to imply that I should. I just need him to write the note & I have the time!!!!

basically what he doing is getting rid of the bump and hoping that that will get rid of the pain. Outpatient surgery and he said it is a 2 week recovery and then PT. The other procedureos where he would have cut into the bone as he put it like a pizza slice & shiftted everything to straighten the toe. That is a 6 week recovery process and all I am truly concerned about is getting rid of the pain.

Good luck...I did it years ago and never regretted it! The day before my surgery I wore the most uncomfortable pair of shoes to work to psych myself up for it!!!

Good luck, I'm glad you decided to take the 2 weeks. It's better for you not to have to deal with "him" when you are recovering.

Good luck Jodi! My sister had it done & according to her the aniticipation was way worse than the recovery.

I went to the Dr & got signed all paperwork today. I will have a note to take 2 weeks off & Dr will give me more time if needed. I just have to get medical clearance from my Dr and also a pregnancy test which both I & the Dr laughed at since I had my tubes tied almost 5 years ago. Once that is done I'm all set to go on the 4th
