I finally found a center I liked!!!!

After going to a ton of daycare centers, I finally found one that feels right for Hannah.

They have an openning in what they call the wobbler room. It is for 1+ that are walking. They don't mind taking her a little younger (she's already 10 1/2 months), but she's not walking and they can't make any exceptions.Chat Icon

She's pulling up, cruising, standing without holding on and walking with a push toy. Normally I'm all for not rushing and letting them do things on their own, but I need her out of her current center. If I lose this spot, they think they will have another in January.

Is there anything I can do to help her along with the walking?

Good job on finding the spot! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Sorry, no tips as Steven's been cruising for 4 months now. The most he takes is 4 steps, but that's it. And he's been doing that for 3 months.

What worked with Johnny was for my DH to hold him up in a standing position and i would be a few steps away holding his bottle or cheerios. He would take a few steps towards me on his own and then fall. In about 3 days of doing this, he was walking on his own! Couldn't hurt to try!

DS didn't really walk until 14 months and that when he was ready. There are things that I bought and he always had strong legs but he wasn't ready. Just keep practicing by holding her hands.

Jodi, I have no advice really since Niko has been crusing around for quite some time now but still hasn't started walking on his own just yet.. he'll stand alone sometimes and take a step or two before falling but mostly I just don't think he's ready (and I practice with him a LOT)

I hope that Hannah can start walking for you so she can get into the new daycare.. it sounds like a much better environment for her Chat Icon Chat Icon

Matty is doing the same as Hannah- no advice on how to rush it-

I'm glad you found a great center- can you maybe afford a nanny (I know they are more expensive) until January?
