I finally got the call to interview for my dream job!
I am so freaking happy. I don’t want to give too many details because it’s a federal job and it’s only an interview, but it’s mainly to teach English to certain federal employees, so they can communicate better with worldwide government organizations.
I have been trying for this job FOREVER. I had an interview in September, but I didn’t make it past the stage to go do the required training session.
But I kept applying to other branches. I finally got the call and they want to do the required training session and interview for a few days in March! Finally. Even if I don’t get the job, it’s still great to do this training session because it gives me a very good opportunity to possibly get something else. And the best part is they are sending me away and paying for it! Teachers never get paid business trips! I haven’t been away since the pandemic started (mainly financial reasons), so this is exciting. However, it’s in Eastern Germany, so not the prettiest.
The position is not exactly clear where it will be, but they mentioned somewhere near the Danish-German border.

Thank you everyone! I am just so happy! I have wanted something like this since I first decided to do my degree in German. My original plan (translation for the UN  ) didn’t work out because I realized how tedious translation is. I realized this quick in my studies and this is the next best thing.
Of course if I get the job this means uprooting everything and leaving everything behind, but I’ve done this 4 times already in my life.
