I FINALLY saw cloverfield... Warning - SPOILER...
My stepdaughter told me to watch out for that drop in the water in the very last scene when they were in Coney Island, because thats when the things landed - did anyone else catch that?

My friend came up to visit us this past weekend and he and I watched it again and saw that scene. I would have never known about it had it not been for that blessed IMDB website. Didn't catch it when we saw it in the theatre..
ETA: I think it's in the deleted scenes also.

It took me a few times to catch it - I kept making DH go back, and he still didn't see it after I did - I kept saying "There! Did you see it???"
D'oh!
after more rewinding, I literally stood at the TV screen and pointed as it dropped in the water!!!

There IS a HUGE splash when it hits the water too but if you're not watching that part of the screen you totally miss it..

I finally saw it last night too...No, I didn't catch that at all, I'll have to watch the last scene again later.
Overall, I don't think it lived up to the hype and it made me dizzy watching it.
OK- I found a bunch of clips on youtube showing it AND I STILL can't see it.
I think people are overanalyzing a teeny speck

Did you also notice that when they're all on the bridge you can see another guy filming all of the action too? I'm thinkin that there will be another movie from someone else's POV.....

I missed the drop into the water in the background of the Coney Island scene, but DH caught it and told me about it afterwards.
If they make a sequel, I hope it's as exciting as this one was!

I don't think it was a nuclear blast which is WHY it survived... I think they were just basically leveling the entire city with tons of bombs...at least thats what I assumed.
After we saw this movie we came home and we were on the internet for hours looking up stuff like spoilers and hidden signs and stuff.
That whole scene where they are being taken away in the helicopter was filmed right in front of the building I work in... you can see it in the background in the movie!

to tell you the truth, I'm shocked at how well the camera AND that tape held up through all of the crazy shennaingans going on!

Loved this movie...and the day he is filming in the beginning with his girlfriend is my birthday and the day the world is destroyed is Kerri's....freaky!
