The Melissa & Doug Responsibilty Chart is amazing. I thought it was more a chores chart until I bought it and it has great things. We went over it with Teddy last night and all day today he worked really hard to not get a time out for the things on the chart so he could earn the magnetic smiles at the end of the night. It was a brand new kidChat Icon ! Also he has an end goal written on the bottom board which is if he goes the whole week with all smiles he earns a trip to the Zoo. If not then we don't go.

We have a white board type of chart for DS. I didn't like the fact that cleaning his room, or the living room had the exact same weight as going to bed on time. With the white board, I have a scale of 0-5 for several items. It allows DS to do an "ok" job, and still get some points. I think it's much more fair that way. Each check mark is 1 point, and the 0-5 points are whatever points are given.
