I got such a nice compliment ths morning!
As I was taking out the trash this morning, my across-the-street neighbor came over to me and said that ever since we moved in, there has ben such a feeling of "community" on the street. She said that people seem to be talking to each other more and looking out for each other more. (there are several elderly couples in the surrounding houses). When we first moved in, we threw a BBQ for all the new neighbors and she said that this is what started it all.
It was so nice to hear that this morning

As brash as I can be, I don't know if I'd be brave enough to throw a BBQ upon move in and invite all my neighbors! 
That's really nice of you, and your neighbors! It's so important to have good relationships with them, they can really make your life hell if you don't.

That is a great feeling isn't it. Our neighbors loved the fact that we bought the house that they threw us a BBQ a couple of weeks ago. It was great knowing that we brought a neighborhood together again. Great feeling! I'm sure you will love living in your new home, just as I know we will.

That is a really nice compliment! I think the bar-b-q was a good move, clearly it jump-started something bigger than just a "lets GTG and meet the new neighbors" thing.
That's very cool, good for you!
Oh and hey, keep an eye on that little old red head down the block from you!
