I got to meet my favorite author!
I know this really isn't parenting related but the ending was. I found out that Jodi Picolut was going to be at the Border's by me but my DH was out of town. It was at 7 which was an hour before DD bedtime so off we went.
They were so nice. I had to leave our spot on the floor since DD had enough halfway through our talk and started to wave good-bye to everyone and say night, night We ended up just hovering around waiting for her talk to end so hopefully I could get my book signed by her.
When I saw the line start to form, I turned and started to leave since it was way to long to wait with DD. She was so good too the whole time we waited but I was pushing it. The manager of the store saw me and brought me and another woman with young kids to the front of the line. It was so nice that I wanted to kiss the woman.
The author was very sweet- she even talked to me for a few minutes and complimented my DD on how good she was. I was just so amazed that they would let us go to the front. Usually we are so frowned upon by bringing our kids places, I thought I would share this nice story.

I wasn't going to share but after that awful story, I thought it would be nice to hear about some human kindness.

Don't you love it when things work out like that, especially when DD's with you? I love Jodi Piccoult too. I got halfway through one of her books when I was in FL. Maybe someday I'll finish it...
