I guess I didn't impress
I went for an interview yesterday at a charter school and thought it went well. Sent a thank you email. Got thre response:

I went on today looking at postings and the job I interviewed for was reposted today.
Ughhhhh as much as I love this career I so hate it!

Honestly, you are probably better off holding out for a regular public school job. Charter schools are like sweatshops, from what I've read. And you have zero job protection.

I know I'm not crazy about charter schools I just really want to teach.
You know what I don't get is how PICKY these schools are.
When I submit my resume, they want this and this and you have to answer like 10 questions.

I read this week on gothamschools.org that Chancellor Klein ws allowing new schools in the DOE to hire a certain percentage of new teachers...meaning that they don't have to follow the hiring freeze rules that other schools do. If you go on schools.nyc.gov you should see if there are positions posted under new schools that you can apply to.
