So I went today to Columbia (60th street) for a follow up sono on the small stomach (TE fistula) issue.
The good news - she is growing nicely - she is 2 lbs 15 oz (so basically 3 lbs- I am 27w 4 days). She is so adorable - they took a lot of 3d photos and put the 4d video on for us. She kept pulling and playing with the umbilical cord and trying to hide her face behind it like peek a boo.
The stomach is definitely looking bigger which is great.
The mixed... Yes the stomach looks bigger but my fluid is going up and is still increased - I think it was 22 and Dr said 25 would be a problem. So they don't know if I am going to have a problem with the fluid (which could lead to pre term labor) or if it is a red flag for the TE Fistula as it is one of the things they look for.
They decided that there is still a possibility of the TE fistula and the Dr recommended that I now have sonos every two weeks and that I call the prenatal pediatric department back and arrange to transfer my OB care to Columbia. They feel that the baby is going to need full workup at birth and that I might have an issue so they feel they are best able to handle it.
But Kaitlyn is looking good and they are telling me they think it is only a TE Fistula or hopefully nothing at all - and that if it is a TE Fistula it is a minor surgery and then she will be perfectly fine. I am just hoping that they are just being over cautious and that she won't need sugery.
On a fluid note, my fluid is higher then that and my High Risk Dr. said he didnt feel it was "too high" and is not worried...BUT Idont have a stomach issue with the baby you do...but I wanted to try to make you feel better....
I will say a prayer she is FINE and its all precautionary!
I am keeping little Kaitlyn in my prayers, hoping everything will turn out just as you want. If not however, it sounds like you are in great hands, and everything will be JUST FINE!
