I had a horrible morning...
My day started at 7:15 AM with a call from the police that my mom was picked up. She "ran away" from the adult home/care facility she lived in and called the operator from a pay phone. She forgot my phone number and asked the operator if she could contact me. The operator called the police department and then the police and the adult home called me. Long story short, the adult home cannot have her live there anymore, she got kicked out. I was on the phone and internet all morning trying to find a Nursing home that would take her in, if not the next step is a psychiatric facility. She has borderline personality disorder and severe depression. I know if she ends up in a psych facility, she will NEVER get out.
Please pray that the two nursing homes I found this morning that are willing to interview her will take her in. She does not want to live in a nursing home. I have POA, and I know I will probably need to "force" her legally to be admitted into the nursing home. This is such a nightmare.
With two weeks away from my induction and the fact that I can give birth any day, I cannot believe she pulled this stunt today. I know she does not "know what she is doing", but I feel depressed, sad, angry, and disappointed. I took a personal day from work today and I have been trying not to get too overwhelmed by my sadness.
I really miss the way my mom used to be and I have no hope that she will ever get better or be the mother I always wanted her to be.
Thanks for listening. I feel like all I have been doing is venting lately. I guess when it rains it pours

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. It's tough enough to have a mother who is sick, but to deal with the happenings of this morning on top of it is a bit much. Since you have the rest of the day off, try and do something you enjoy- go for a massage, a walk, get a mani/pedi. Just treat yourself, you deserve it!

Thanks Genna. I will let you know. My brother and I are going Thursday morning to fill out the application and paperwork at both places. I know I will have questions for you after we get home.

I'm so sorry to hear you are going through this Dina I really hope one of the homes will take her!! You and your mom will be in my prayers!
