I hate a cough!! Go to the ped, don't go to the ped!!!

Sooo annoying

DD has had a cough and has been stuffy for a few days. No other symptoms. No fever, still eating like a champ, same sleeping patterns, etc. Just this cough that makes her hoarse.

DH thinks I should bring her to the ped but sometimes I feel like going there if she really isn't that sick does more harm then good

Abby has been home sick for the past two days. She was/is coughing and because of her history of ear infections and bronchiolitis that had her nebulized for weeks, we brought her in. Turns out, she has a post nasal drip and nothing more than a cold but I couldn't take the chance with prior respiratory problems. Go with your gut.

Mason has a cough too. When we were at the Peds a couple of weeks ago she said it's a post nasal drip. There's nothing in his chest. Babies can have colds forever.

We use the humidifier, Vicks plug-ins, elevate his head and use the nasal spray.

Samantha had the same thing all weekend..... my SIL called yesterday to tell me that her son (who is a day younger than Samantha) has Pnemonia! And while, her sleep has been uninteruppted, she's been playful and happy as a clam, it turns out she has not only an ear infection, but Broncholitis as well (aka RSV)

I would bring her just to be on the safe side. Aside from a 101.2 fever late yesterday afternoon, she's had no fever and woke up today fever free.

At that age, if it was a really wet cough, or lasted longer than a week, I brought DS in.

For me, the $20 copay was worth the peace of mind that he was OK.

depends on how deep/wet the cough is. I brought Jack in for a cough on Sat and he ended up having an ear infection and sinus infection.

Then yesterday the cough was much deeper so we went back and now we are giving him the nebulizer treatments.

I'll call the doctor when DS's cough has lasted a while or has affected his sleeping and eating. I think you should go with your gut. DS has had bronchiolitis, which has made me even more cautious when he has a cough.

Liam too has had a bad cough for a day now. We went to ped Saturday for his well visit and he was perfectly fine. Still no fever, no running nose, just a rough cough. hopefully it will pass

I guage by how DS is. If he is happy and playing and it is not a deep phlegmy cough that stops him from eating, breathing regularly, or sleeping, I just play it by ear unless it lasts more than a full week.
