I hate my tub seat
I have this one...
He sits great in it and all... but water gets trapped in the seat, and its so hard to clean and get it all out, and it smells....
Also- I have no place to store it other than the tub itself... and its real annoying everytime we go to shower, to take it out of the tub....(I do have a spare bathroom... but its so annoying to move it room to room everynight)
Does anyone else have this??? Does anyone else have these issues??? And how do you clean it????
At what age can you safely let your child sit up in the tub alone.... (not in a huge amount of water or anything) Ryan sits up great- but Im so scared he's gonna throw himself back.... there wouldnt be enough water in there for him to do anything, but Im freaked out his gonna hit his head....For the most part Ive been bathing with him, and letting him sit up on his own.... but im in the tub with him...just in case.... Re: I hate my tub seat
I just got it and so far I haven't had those issues, but I guess I will in the future!
We have 3 baths so, I just leave it in the one we don't really use.

Re: I hate my tub seat
I think something like this would be more ideal... its not as big.... and there is no place for the water to get trapped....
However- Im wondering if I really need anything at all Image Attachment(s):

Re: I hate my tub seat
Have you seen the inflatable tubs that fit inside your tub? I got one of those for my older son when he was just about 1 and LOVED it! I already picked one up for my little guy. He'll be using it soon.

I have one of these and love it. You hang it on the shower wall w/ a suction cup. It takes no room to store and I just wash it out when she is done. Plus- they are cheap .

With Gabriella, once she sat, she sat in the tub. She was fine.
Gianni is EVERYWHERE and couldn't sit in a mini tub or a regular, so I found something simliar to this post.

Marissa --- this is the inflatable tub seat. They also have versions at target that I've seen but I think this is the most popular:

Re: I hate my tub seat
I have the same tub and I hate it too. When you're done with the tub, turn it on it's side and the water should come pouring out. I store it in the tub too and then I take it out when I shower...if I tilt it and the water comes out that night, it's usually dry by the morning.

Re: I hate my tub seat
I have the same seat, I dont love it, but it serves its purpose. After each bath I shake out all the excess water, place it upside down and take a spray bottle filled with 80%water and 20% bleach and spray it into the creavices. Rinse it well, should take care of the problem.
I'm looking into the bubble bathmat from one step ahead so I can get rid of this seat

Re: I hate my tub seat
I let her sit in there alone know and just kneel down. I didn't even think to buy a tub seat. The water just about covers her legs.

Re: I hate my tub seat
See I do flip it.... but some water stays in there.... and lets face it... its pee water.... after DS baths in it....
So pee water stuch in crevics smells!!!
The bleach and water spray thing is a great idea..... I think im gonna try it...
But Im also gonna start looking for that smaller... seat with no crevics above...

Re: I hate my tub seat
I have that seat and have no smelly problems. After she is done I tilt it and then tilt it in a different direction to get the water out.

I have this exact seat and never had any issues with water getting stuck. Of course, now DS just sits in the tub without anything, but it was nice while it lasted.

Honestly, I know this will sound terrible, but I got one that was practically brand new at a local thrift store for $2.
Once Christopher started sitting well on his own, he went right into it. He's a reacher as well, so I was worried, but he sat very well in it and the seat back is high enough that he won't fall backwards. It wasn't until he was much older (near the end of 8 months) where he actually started trying to get out of it. That put an end to that and I started just putting him in the regular tub.

Re: I hate my tub seat
I had the same seat and I had no problems with it I would flip it on its side in the bathtub when I was done withit and let it stay there for a while to make sure all the water came out and then I would put it next o my bathtub in the corner by my sink and it was fine there. I would also spray it down with water and bleach to make sure I killed whatever bacteria would be inthe cracks and it was fine
