Ugh...I feel the same way. DD is definitely teething...her 3rd tooth just broke through...but she is also tugging or touching her ear. I'm so confused

My son is also cutting four teeth right now so I thought nothing of his runny nose...then he developed a fever...still chalked up to teething since he seemed fine, was eating normal, etc but yesterday at his 9mth well visit, dr said he had double ear infection.

Re: I hate not knowing if they have an ear infrection
My pediatrician said that 75% of ear infection resolve on their own and unless there is a fever they usually will nt treat an ear infection. So as long as there isn't a fever and doesn't seem to be extremely uncomfortable I would think they were fine.
My DD has had ear infections so many times at least 6-7 times in the past 8 mos. And it is amazing how literally one hour they are fine and no ear infection (checked by ped) and three hours later running 103 temp and rechecked by ped and has double ear infection. So you just never know when it turns.
