I have a cold

I felt SO Crappy last night. I went to bed at 10 and kept tossing and turning. IN the middle of the night my throat was killing me and every time I would swallow my throat would hurt. My nose was so stuffed even when I blew it that I had to breath through my mouth.

Today I am feeling a little better. I don't have a fever- I am just feeling crappy. I am seeing my doctor on Monday so I don't think I want to call him this weekend. I have no fever and I'm not taking any medication (I usually don't, even when not PG).

Thanks! I don't trust DH to make me any soup- but he went out and bought me some which is good enough.

I spent the whole day inside resting, sleeping and eating fruits and soup. I had a terrible night when my fever hovered around 100- hitting 100.4. I was so worried. I took some tylenol (I haven't taken any medication during my pregnancy). For hours I rolled around in bed and couldn't sleep. Well I just woke up all sweaty, but my fever finally broke. I am now at 96.7. What a nightmare... I just kept worrying about how this is affecting the baby.

So do I and it *****! I know we can take Sudafed but I really don't want to take anything so I'm rubbing Vicks all over me every night. Clearing my husbands sinues too LOL

I hope you're feeling better by now. If not, please consider seeing your doctor or at least calling him.

I was in the same boat while pregnant - where I wasn't feeling well and refused to take medication and "toughing it out". I didn't want to take unnecceseary medication because I didn't want to hurt the baby. I tended to go more holistic remedies etc. When my cold turned into a full-fledged sinus infection with a slight fever, I was still avoiding my general physician.

On a routine visit, my ob/gyn told me while you're pregnant, every vitamin and mineral you have goes to your baby first. The pre-natal vitamins you take are actually for you. The baby will take whatever it needs from your body, leaving you depleted of calcium, etc. When you get sick & your body is weak, you need to be more aggressive in treatment (including taking medication) and resting because if your body needs those vitamins, white blood cells, etc. it will take from the baby.

Thanks. I was getting all better, and last night I took a turn for the worse. I went to bed at 8:30!! I was so tired and achy. No fever though. I have an appointment to see my doctor Monday anyway so I'll see him. If I don't feel 100% better by the morning I will take a day off and see a PCP to make sure its just a cold.
