if you have petunia hanging baskets, how often do you water and feed them?

We've had our for almost 2 months now and they look like crap!

any advice would be appreciated Chat Icon

Once a day in the morning. Sometimes twice but that if the water drains out of the basket.

wow. so you water them every single day huh? I guess that's what I'm doing wrong. I water every other day.

I don't understand though. I buy these every year and never watered them that often and they were always fine. Chat Icon

between the 2 plants that I have, there are a gazillion dead flowers on them. I hate that they're so sticky - yuck! it would probably take me an hour to go pull all the dead ones out Chat Icon

Re: I have a quetion about petunia flowers

Since it's been so hot I water my potted flowers once a day sometime twice. Since they are in pots the water drains quickly and it needs to be replenished.

Re: I have a quetion about petunia flowers

I water mine every other day and they are in full sun. On that little tag it said that after the plants are established, the soil should get a little dry then water them thoroughly. I have mine in 10" hanging baskets and they are constantly getting new blooms. You can also try adding some Miracle Grow... I did and they look amazing.

Re: I have a quetion about petunia flowers

i water them every day in full sun. you should buy the little package of miracle grow and add it to your watering container then water the flowers with that mixture

do that every 7-10 days. also peel off the dead flowers- then new ones will bloom

also water them every day

petunias are the only think i am growing in my frmont yard- i have them in baskets and in my soil in the garden. they are in full sun all day as well
