Re: I have a ridiculous travel question

I'm assuming the baby has his own seat on the plane? There isn't a latch system on the airplane, so you don't need the base, BUT I would check in the base with your luggage so that you can use it in the car when you get picked up from the airport.

If the baby is riding on your lap, then I would attach the base to the car seat and check it alll in together. Just be sure to bring a garbage bag to put it in so that it doesn't get wet if there is bad weather, when you arrive at your destination. Chat Icon

Re: I have a ridiculous travel question

With the infant seat, we only brought the seat on the plane, no base. You just use the plane seat belt to strap it in. We shipped the base down to Florida so we could use it in the car when we got there. We were staying at FIL's house.

You can use the infant seat without the base in the car while on vacation. You do not need the base to use it as a carseat. It's just a bit easier. Check the instructions on how to strap it in using the car's seatbelt.

Re: previous post- you also do not need the LATCH system to use the base. You can use the car's seatbelt for that too.

Re: I have a ridiculous travel question

which carseat is it...I know we had the Peg Perego and you couldn't put in in the car without the base...we had to bring it...PITA, but worth it obviously.
