I have such a hard time getting up in the morning
I have the opportunity to work 8 am - 4 pm and I would really like to do this, but I can't get my but out of bed and I end up getting to work between 9 am - 10 pm.
Any tips that could help me?

force yourself to go to bed earlier!
eat dinner earlier, get into bed earlier, and you'll be able to get up earlier.
It won't work perfectly the first week or so, but around week 2, you should be a champ.
Good luck

Re: I have such a hard time getting up in the morning
Before you go to bed open up the blinds in your room. Natural sunlight is supposed to help you wake up feeling less tired. Forgot why -something about a chemical production due to the son's rays.

Re: I have such a hard time getting up in the morning
I get up at 4:45 so I can get to work at 5:30 and leave work at 1:15pm
Most days I force myself out of bed. Scott

Re: I have such a hard time getting up in the morning
About a year ago I went from 9-4:30 to 8-3:30 and now I'm looking to go to 7-2:30. What I find helps is if I eat dinner earlier and also have my clothes ready (and lunch if you bring it) and then in the morning i can sort of sleep walk through my shower and then just take it from there. It will be rough the first two weeks-but after that it starts to get easier and easier.

This is what I do! I work 7am to 3pm and it's much easier for me to get out of bed when the sun is peeking through. It's much more difficult to get up if the room is really dark. I still feel tired, but once I get to work, I'm fine. It also feels great ending your day at 3...you feel like you still have a whole day ahead of you to do other things1

Re: I have such a hard time getting up in the morning
I just changed my schedule to be at work at 7am but my days are longer because I only work 4 days a week (Tues-Fri).
I find that if I leave the blinds a little open that helps but on a day like today when it's raining....that didn't do much good.. And I find that if I leave everything set up (clothes, shoes etc), is a little easier to get up (no guessing what I'm going to wear) and I waste less time. I also put the radio on with music and this helps a little bit...listening to a good song helps me to wake up a bit....

Re: I have such a hard time getting up in the morning
I have the same issue....I'm lucky enough that the baby goes back to sleep till 8-9am (or later). I SHOULD wake up after her 6/6:30am feeding so I can get stuff done around the house.
I'd try setting the alarm WAY earlier....like 30+ minutes, that way you can snooze it, and feel like you're "sleeping in".
ETA: Try waking up at the time you'd need to get up to get there at 8 for a bit, get it consistent. THEN start leaving the house at the same time. Maybe if you can adjust to waking up first, it'll be easier to get out. plus, if you get the dogs on an earlier routine, that will help...mine are SO used to going out at 7-7:15am when Rich wakes up.

Re: I have such a hard time getting up in the morning
I work from 7-3 & I make it a point to eat dinner no later then 6:30! I also make sure I am in bed relaxing by 9 & sleeping by 10! We do not have blinds in our bedroom, so the sun peaks in!
Trust me, even if you are exhausted at work in the morning, it is well worth it because when you get out, you still have at least 4-5 hours of daylight!!!

Re: I have such a hard time getting up in the morning
i work from 8-4..i think it is totally worth it forcing myself out of bed in the morn to be done by 4pm and get home when most ppler just getting out of work, i try and go in bed by 10, asleep by 11...wake up b/w 6-7 depending how far away ur commute is and get up right away in the morning, no snooze button!

You could put the alarm on the other side of the room...This forces you to get up and out of bed to turn it off!

Re: I have such a hard time getting up in the morning
I used to get up at 5:20 to be at work by 7:15. It was so normal to me back then. You will get used to the time change.

I have done that. I get up and turn it off and don't remember or sleep through it.
