I have to go to court on Thursday..
in ISLANDIA for a speeding ticket I got on the LIE.
Anyone know the judge 
If I'm caught with a radar gun there's basically no pleading not guilty right?

Talk to the DA, they usually knock it down so you don't get points but still pay the fine. If it's your first offense.

it's my first offense in THAT town.. 
But if I plea not guilty don't they give me another date so the cop comes too? then I have a little trial thingy?

i think you can plead no contest which isn't much different than guilty, but it is another choice.

I think they will def. knock it down. At least you won't have to go to work that day.
I'll never forget when I had to go to court in Garden City for one of my many offenses - and had my dad come with me. The judge was one of his golfing buddies!!! Needless to say - I got out of it thank god!!!

i got a ticket in islandia before - they offer everyone half the points and they tell you that the cops park there and very rare that they don't show up for a ticket - so everyone pretty much takes halh the points and pays the fee

Can't offer any help on the plea but do you mean radar gun detector I'm wondering why you would want a radar gun instead of a radar un detector
And if you do mean detector then did it come with some guarantee that if you get a ticket they will pay it I have seen some ads like that

I agree with this. Call the DA.
I got a $287 speeding ticket in CT a while back and I called the DA to reschedule the court date (exam that day). He read the officer's notes which said I had been really nice and apologetic since me and my passenger were late to a law school event having booked a hotel further out than we realized from the host hotel. He asked if I had a job lined up yet and I told him yes & where. Then he completely dismissed the case  No fine & no points

Try doing research on requesting a supporting deposition. I believe that the ticket will be dismissed if the cop fails to provide it after you request it. You may be out of time to request it, but I am not sure.
