I have to take the LIRR next week, during peak times
... and all the prior posts have me paranoid that I'll take up too much of the seat, look at someone the wrong way, wear my hair too long, my bag in someone elses way, and on and on and on.
I think I'm just going to go directly to stand in the vestibule.

I love how everyone gets mad at the commuting posts. Trust me, if you had to deal with the inconsiderate fellow riders, and pay the ridiculous ticket prices, you'd be less than thrilled too...
I got decked this morning in Penn and the guy didn't even say excuse me...

I was coming home raging all the time about what this person did or that person did. One day I found a gift bag with a pair of Bose earphones in it and a note from my DH telling me to " suck it up...it's public transportation. In the meantime these will block out all those noises that bother you. "
I got the hint and wore those suckers out.

Don't chew your gum really loud and blow bubbles either! The other week I sat near this woman who was chewing like a cow. Everything else was quiet and I couldn't read my book because all i could focus on was the smacking sound and bubbles snapping and popping. just when I thought it was over, she pulled out the pack and chewed more. then when that was over, she pulled out the pack again and put 4 pieces in her mouth at once and finished the entire pack.
