I'm having a really hard time deciding if we should have the Baptism up in NY or have it down here in NC? It's such a hard decision. Having it up in NY would be nice because it'll be where we got married and where Caiden was Baptized, and everyone will be able to see the baby, but it will be a looong drive and more expensive. If we had it down here it would be easier for us, cheaper probably, but hardly anyone would come. Chat Icon I don't know what to do? Chat Icon

I think you should do what is best for your family. I woluldnt have the christening so it was convenient for the people that weren't driving with a newborn and a 2.5 yr old plus the added expense would bother me. If people want to make the drive they will, you might be surprised. At my wedding I had my cousin come from NJ somewhat up north and I got married at the Watermill in Smithtown and they came sat in 3 hours of traffic stayed almost the whole night and left. So if people want to come they will.

I would have it at home and not worry about traveing to NY. It will absolutely be too much. Even if only immediate family comes, that is fine. That is all we had and I have no regrets.

How important is it to you to have your family there for the baptism? If you don't mind it being small, have it at home. However, if you feel like you'd be disappointed in the long run having only a few people there, maybe you should have it in NY.
