Some are very hardcore . Some not at all. People definitely walk (nursing injuries or just there for social) NRC is super friendly. You can just show up. Its an older crowd. Most are over 40, but there are some young kids (12 ish) that come to run.
What age are the kids? If they aren't going to run or sit in a stroller on the side, there isn't much for them to do.
Drills depend on what you are training for. Summer is 5K season, but also the start for fall marathon training, so you will see all different things going on. They also have a timed mile once or twice...I haven't seen that on the schedule though.
