I just made the BEST....(with pic!)

chocolate chip cookies!

YUM
I just tried out this recipe that I found for soft chocolate chip cookies.... they were so delicious I had to share!

INGREDIENTS:
2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
1 (3.4 oz) package instant vanilla pudding mix
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS:
-sift together the flour and baking soda, set aside.
-in large bowl (i used the kitchenaid mixer), cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar.
-beat in the instant pudding mix
-stir in eggs and vanilla
-blend in flour mixture
-stir in chocolate chips
---refridgerate dough for about 30 minutes
-drop cookies by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet
-flatten them a little bit with your hands... they don't spread TOO much
-bake in preheated oven at 325 degrees for 13 minutes
-eat all 36 in one sitting (just kidding!)

these were soooo delicious and came out looking so nice! normally my cookies look like little round blobs... but these were perfectly rounded! you MUST try this recipe!

PS-- make sure you run the cookie sheet under cold water between batches to prevent the cookies from spreading too much! and also refridgerate the dough between batches too!

Re: I just made the BEST....

Were they soft, or hard with soft middles?

I've been wanting to try to find a new soft cookie recipe to bake.

Looks very similar to the recipe for Toll House cookies. The pudding mix must give them great flavor!

I actually got the recipe from Allrecipes.com -- you can search the recipes, and sort them based on rating. Then make sure you read the "most helpful" rated reviews... they'll tell you what changes to make to the original recipe so they come out perfectly! i can do a quick search for you.. but i can't vouch for the recipe since i haven't made sugar cookies yet!

Oooh, they look so yummy. I do the Tollhouse recipe several times over every Christmas. They always come out soft, but I have no idea why. I can't wait for December now.

Re: I just made the BEST....(with pic!)

That is very similar to the one I use.
The pudding does make it great!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients:
4 cups semisweet chocolate chips
2 (3.4 ounces) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
1 ½ cups packed brown sugar
½ cup white sugar
4 ½ cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 cups chopped walnuts (optional)
2 cups butter
4 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Preparation
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Sift together the flour and baking soda, set aside. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar. Stir in the instant pudding until blended. Then stir in the eggs and vanilla. Add the dry ingredients and mix well. Finally, stir in the chocolate chips and nuts.
Drop cookies by rounded spoonfuls onto unprepared cookies sheets. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven. Edges should be golden brown.
Makes 6 dozen

Re: I just made the BEST....(with pic!)

Thank you, Hayley!

I made the chocolate chip cookies this past weekend. They came out exactly like your picture!

I had to refrigerate the dough for a bunch of hours before baking 'cause we had some errands to do. Still, the cookies came out great! Thanks for posting!!
