I just need to say that I can't wait...
until the election is over. All the political posts are giving me a headache. November can't come fast enough.

I think we need a politics board then, so that people who don't want to see it don't have to look at it, just like I am happy that I don't have to see 600000 posts about Britney if I choose not to.

Despite the fact that I've posted on so many of those threads, I feel the same way. It's like crack.
Even though I'm anti additional boards, I've seriously considered asking for a temporary politics / election board -- just until the election is over.
The posts would be easier for me to ignore that way!

but here's the thing though
Jenn, you're trying to make people informed and I respect that
1. your tone turns people off
2. you really think people are coming to LIF to become informed on the election
when we want 24/7 politics - we turn to other outlets

Exactly. I've answered many of them. But it gets to a point where its one after the other and sometimes "what's for lunch" is something nice and light. We all have troubles in our lives, from azzhole bosses to family problems. Sometimes I just want to come on a message board, joke around with some cyber-friends and laugh a little. I get that we're in a climate right now where political talk is on everyone's mind. But I sometimes I just need to lighten it up a bit.
Just my .02.

I'm not always trying to make people informed, though I have given people a lot of info over FM. I just enjoy the debate. I enjoy talking to people about things that make them passionate. It's exciting to me.
Politics is on my brain 24/7. It's boring to talk to my FH, he agrees with me on 99% of it
