I kinda feel bad

Because of the pain in my back and general preggo complaints, I have been ripping my DH a new one on a nightly basis. I feel bad and I am worried that he is going to start resenting me for being so nasty. I try to explain and apologize to him every lucid moment I have and he seems to accept it, but I can see how hurt he is when I snap at him. Chat Icon

For example, last night, I feel asleep on our neighbor's couch watching movies. My friend/neighbor said to DH "Leave her, she hasn't been sleeping or feeling well." Well, he woke me up, and proceeded to screw around for another 10 minutes, causing me not to be able to fall back asleep for an hour and making the pain worse. He tried to cuddle and it was so painful I was just screaming at him to leave me alone.

What should I do to make him understand that it is not him, it is me?

Chat Icon I was kind of like that too, very cranky! What happened with me, is that my pain got so bad I had no energy to be cranky and just cried all the time. DH kind of understood it was pretty serious then.

I'm sorry I don't have any more suggestions, I would just find a time when you are feeling well, and sit down heat to heart and explain that you are not doing well and really need his support and understanding.

Sofa sleeping was good for me too, since the sofa was a big pillow against my back.

Re: I kinda feel bad

It is tough with all the hormones and changes, and just being generally uncomfortable. Hopefully he'll start to understand. How about planning a nice relaxing day for the two of you - low key, lunch out, go fora walk or something? My DH doesn't get it always either and it can be frustrating. Try also being specific about what you need from DH, then he can feel good for doing something that helped you.
