i knew this was going to happen
i attempted to color my hair yesterday and it definitely lightened it (i went from medium brown to light brown) but it's got a REALLY red tint to it.
so of course now i have to suck it up and get it done professionally.
i haven't gotten my hair colored in FOREVER.
now, opinions please - should i get highlights to lighten everything overall and hide the red, or should i ask my stylist for a single process to try and get the color i as originally trying to achieve?
TIA!
i will try and post pics later.

I say single process and get the color you wanted originally. Getting out the red is a beyotch!

Re: i knew this was going to happen
i don't look bad with red hair (i had it all throughout HS) but it's just not what i was going for, KWIM?
i was hoping single process would do the trick, highlights take so much time and effort and with a baby on the way i need the easy way out

Re: i knew this was going to happen
i'd definitely go with the single process - maybe they will be able to tone it?
also, watch your hair in the sun this summer to avoid it getting more red/brassy.
Good Luck!

The only way to get the red out would be to use a color with an ash undertone.
