I know he didnt mean it but........

I wasnt gonna write anything about this but the more I think about it the more angry I get. So IUI #4 failed and today I went in for my cd3 appointment to get started yet again. When I went in to talk to the doctor he actually said to me "hey whats going on here....you're starting to make us look bad" I know he didnt mean it and he was probably just trying to lighten the mood but seriously dude?!?!?!? Please mind your words and remember that even though you may see patients like me 100x a day...this is all very difficult for ME as an individual. I'm not worried about making your clinic look good!!!! Again i know he didnt mean it like that but that really wasnt nice to say to someone who's visibly saddened by the whole situation.

i mentioned when I did the IUI this week that the dr. couldnt get over hubby's sperm count and he said from what he saw things looked good on my end. "i have no idea why you're not pregnant yet." he said to me and then walked out of the office.

nice doc..me neither..thats why im here..

i think there needs to be more senstivity and bedside manner training..

He definitely sounds like he was just trying to make a joke... I'm sure he didn't mean to hurt you!

My RE always makes jokes and I really like that about him, but I could see how his personality might clash with others (just like how I hated the things the OTHER RE said to me.... even though she was just making jokes!)

I am sorry .... I am sure he meant it try to lighten things up.. I could see how that could rub u the wrong way.. He seems like he does have so much hope for you..

I'm sorry, that would upset me too. There's a time for jokes and sometimes not a time for jokes. Hopefully next time he'll be more sensitive. I know after just my first I asked the doc about other stuff he was like"just b/c the first one didn't work doesn't mean something else is going on" - I was like geesh, just had a question about MY own situation. But I chalked it to a bad day for him, b/c next time he was nice again.

That was really not cool. So sorry you had to deal with this insensitivity from someone that should no better. You really need to start whacking people in the head...first your "friend" and now the RE!!

He has said things like that to me too. I, personally, think he is funny most of the time but there are days when I'm not in the mood for it. He hasn't been your favorite doctor from the start though. I'm sorry his comment is bothering you. He was in a joking mood yesterday, I'm sure... Read this...

Yesterday when I whined about the new doc doing my ER on Sunday, he told me that I would be fine, but that I should make sure he remembered to take his tremor medication before we start. Then he held out his hand and shook it and said that the medication would reduce the tremors to "this amount" which would be fine. I quipped right back at him saying maybe instead of going skiing this weekend, that he should stay home and do my ER. The answer, "I can't do your ER, I have a bachelor party to go to Saturday night, but I'll make sure Dr. T. gets home nice and early, like 5am."

I laughingly told him I hate him as I left. He gave me a grin and wished us good luck.

I can see by Sneezy's post that we have the same doctor. He is a jokester I tell ya although just like you, I am not always in the mood for it. When I started going through my ectopic/chemical/whatever and my beta was low I got "Bet you didnt know you could only be a little pregnant." No D!ckwad, I didnt Now I use the joke but then I didnt find it funny at all. I chock it up to how difficult the job must be for them dealiing with us highly hormonal, emotional women everyday
