I know he's only a baby,
but Mason pays no attention to his baby brother. I see other kids around Mason's age (he's almost 3) all over their baby siblings and even all over Mason's brother, but he could care less. It's weird b/c I know he doesn't like unpredictable things and to him the baby is so unpredictable. Doesn't even like when I put the baby next to him. He immediatly moves Once in a while I could get him to play, but it only lasts a short time. If we have a playdate and the other toddler is interested in the baby then Mason will pretend too.
I know he's only 9 months old, but I thought they'd have some relationship. The baby is always smiling and laughing at Mason too.

Re: I know he's only a baby,
How is he around other kids? Don't worry so much about babies but pay attention to his socialization with kids his age or older. Maybe try a playground or have a playdate and see. My last 3 boys are 3-2-& 1. My 3 year old (PDD-NOS) use to never play with the others but since school he's come along way. He still has trouble with what I call "natural abilities" but he's getting better. It's hard to see, I know. Wish I could offer more advice.

He's good with some kids his age or older. He's been in daycare since he was 3 months. He was a little more delayed when the others kids were playing together he was still parallel playing or independent, but more recently he's come a long way and will play a bit more. He's still a little more shy, but he is just starting to call out for his friend's names. I find that some things that he should've been doing maybe 10 mons to a yr ago he's doing now. He really just likes being told what to do. LOL! Especially by my niece who's 10 mons older than him and bossy. He just follows her around so it's cute. He never really sporadically comes up with his own games or anything.

Re: I know he's only a baby,
for us, it just happened one day... kids are 23 months apart.. i think it clicked when DD turned 2.
give it some time, and make sure the baby is included in ALL therapy sessions esp when he is walking, and can take turns.
hugs, but if he's starting to pay attention to his peers he will start with his brother, esp when his brother starts taking his things from him

Re: I know he's only a baby,
trust me, give it time!! Johnny could have cared less about ryan in the beginning but now they are inseparable. Their relationship is actually really really sweet..he protects him a lot, plays with him all day and is really great with him. It will come together, i had the same worries as you!!
