I KNOW I am missing alot

So I am a fulltime working mom (drop off DD at my mom's place at 8am and pick her up at 6:30pm). My DD is 8.5 months old and I know that there are tons of things that I am missing, but it is so obvious to me now. I took Friday off from work and Saturday my DH worked so my DD and I spent the vast majority of both days together- just the two of us. I hadn't realized that I really hadn't spent that much time alone with her since I was on Maternity leave (until she was 3.5 months old).

I have to say that I feel like we really bonded over this time and I truly got to see what a silly fun girl she is. She definitely has a huge sense of humor and we had so much fun. I don't even know why I am posting but its so hard sitting here at work- thinking about this. I always knew that I was missing what she was doing and bonding time with her because let's face it. I see her for a couple of hours each day until the weekend. But actually spending time together and just being together playing with her toys and hanging out...it made it so glaringly obvious to me. I really wish I could be a SAHM. I was wiped out by the end of the day- but my heart was so full it was worth it.

She was stuck to me like glue this whole weekend and even when I dropped her off at my mom's but I know that by tomorrow she will be a total grandma's girl again- because when I pick her up and hold her she sometimes reaches out for my mom. Am I jealous? Hells yes.

I could have written every word you just wrote myself!

The only thing I can say is that being a SAHM is absolutely exhausting and the fact that you work, makes you want to make the best of every moment you have with her on the weekends and the few hours that you see her.

I remember during my maternity leave, I was always looking for a "break" bc I was with DS all the time.

Now I cherish every moment I have with him, even the simplest things like giving him his morning bottle or nighttime bath.

Those are our special moments and I love, love, love them!!!

Oh sweetheart. Sending you so many . I know how hard it is. I drop of Athan at 7:30 am every day at my moms and then pick him up at 7:00 pm. It's tough. Not enough hours in the day with him. Yes I get jelous that I am not with him 24/7 but I know that he is healthy and happy and the weekends when I AM with him are even more special to us as a family. Chereish every second of it and enjoy it. She knows who her mamma is and who loves her.

I could have written this exactly! I felt this weekend that I was totally following the babysitter's routine and that made me I wish it was still only me that determined "her day". I felt like I was out of sorts and didn't know what to do with her all day. I felt like if I was a SAHM I would be in more of a routine with her so I wouldn't feel so discombulated....I Couldn't even make it out to do 1 errand with her b/c I was busy trying to figure out what to do and when!

I am so with you. I know EXACTLY what your going through. I feel the same way. I wish things could be different.
