I know it should not bother me but...
SOMEONE in the family decided to plan their wedding for next year...the same weekend as DS's 1st b-day It's not like they did not know when it would be

June is a popular wedding month..... I seriously doubt they were thinking about it being the same weekend. Maybe celebrate his birthday the weekend before/after.

Honestly I am not sure. This person is very, um "competitive."
The week before is mother's day weekend, and the week after is memorial day weekend. I know it really should not bother me, but this person always talked about how they would love a fall wedding, and that there is too much going on in the spring & summer to have the wedding then, and that the weather might be too hot or rainy, etc... I dunno just seems fishy to me

what are you gonna do? Celebrate the DAY with your DC, and have a party the we before or the we after. If that person feels the need to be competitive, let them. I personally liked celebrating DD's birthday just the three of us.
As far as her saying wat she did or didn't want for her wedding- everythign changes once you start planning...

We have the same problem but we are in the wedding! The wedding is the day before DS' birthday so we will prob have his party the weekend after.
She had the wedding planned before DS was born though.
