Isn't it obvious?

I know it's been asked...but Eggs?

I was thinking of making Bella some scrambles eggs and tofu this morning...do I chance doing the whole egg or stick with just the yolk?

She's a week shy of 10 months.

Re: I know it's been asked...but Eggs?

Does she have any other allergies?

Has she eaten anything before that has eggs in it (pancakes, french toast?)

If you wanna try it, I think she'll be fine...

If not stick to the yolks...

I tried the whole egg @ about 11 months

Knocking on wood....NO she has no allergies.

I've made muffins with the whole egg AND pancakes and the ones from a box which I know have eggs in them.

I'm nervous...but I know I have to try it at some point!

With an egg allergy...what do I look for? The same as with any other food?

Re: I know it's been asked...but Eggs?

Well we tried eggs to see if DS had allergies. Just the yolk at first. I smashed it and added formula and mixed with his oatmeal. I am trying the white part today.

The main reaction to look for will be hives.

Then you can try pancakes, etc... working your way up to just eggs.

I think they say 12 months so you are just about right anyway by the time you introduce it to see if she is allergic.

Ok, I'm too paranoid...I'm going with just the yolk this morning Chat Icon

Now, is serarating them the normal way good enough?

My doctor said the whole egg is safe after 9 months but its whatever you are comfortable with.

Yes. I do hard boil eggs so I was separate easily.

So me, I thought they could have the WHITES, not the yolks. Alex had scrambled egg whites at 7 months. She loved them and she was fine.

She eats whole eggs now.

Cadens ped said to wait til a year..but in the same conversation she told me do whatever I was comfortable with..I will probably do what Ive always done in the past....

Starting at about 9 months make some hardboiled eggs and add the yolk to some cereal or something...do the 3 day thing..and then, as long as everything is OK, start scrambled eggs do the 3 day thing and then we are good to go...

Im going to wait until basically he can really finger feed himself...

Re: I know it's been asked...but Eggs?

At her 9 month appointment last Monday the PED said, "No honey, no peanut butter, and no egg whites." Otherwise she is allowed everything else.
