I know it's been asked...what's your favorite DRUGSTORE foundation? And...
how do you figure out your shade?
AND...do you get a summer foundation or do you stick with the same shade year round?

I use L'Oreal Visible Lift Blur. It doesn't get cakey and covers fairly well. I have a lighter color for the winter when I get pale and a darker color for the summer once my skin tans. I usually don't wear foundation in the summer once my face gets color.

Re: I know it's been asked...what's your favorite DRUGSTORE foundation? And...
I use Garnier BB cream. Not really a foundation but I have awful skin and it provides enough coverage for me . (Sometimes I do put a little Bare Minerals over it if I want a really polished looked)
I used to think that I needed a heavy foundation to cover my skin issues. However, I have come to find the opposite. The heavier the foundation, the more it just sinks right into my pores and fine lines and acne scars and just highlights all that stuff.
The lighter stuff, BB creams etc, actually helps to blur it all for me without looking cakey or like I'm wearing a ton of make up to cover stuff.

I really love the L'Oreal True Match LUMI, its not too heavy and leaves a really nice finish.
The foundation is supposed to match your neck color, so that's how you can find the shade

I usually use Physicians Formula (the talc-free pressed powder foundation) but lately I have been using this and I love it!
Maybelline BB Cream
It's got very light coverage, which is all I need, and the lightest color is a perfect match (I'm a shade between fair and light and don't get much darker during the summer).

I like Revlon Age Defying with DNA (the swirley one--there are 2 different ones in the line) for a dewy finish & Rimmel Lasting finish for long wearing (work days)
I didn't like L'oreal True Match on my skin, but they have a great range of colors.
If your drugstore has a window, take a few bottles & go near the window if you can & hold the bottle up to your jawline.
It helps if you know if you have warm or cool undertones. also if you find one you think you you like, compare it to the next one, lighter/darker, warmer/cooler.
For years I only wore department store/Sephora foundations so I could test them. It is a good place to spend you money if you can only pick one area to spend $ on makeup. I am a little better at knowing my color now, so I know what looks similar in the drugstore.
I wear sunscreen ever day on my face & I still need a slightly darker/warmer shade in the late summer/early fall. It is not so much that I notice my foundation being too light but when I go to try something new & it happens to be summer, it looks great & then I realize it a few months it is too dark for me.

Revlon Photoready--named something different now I think but the packaging is the same. It was recommended to me by a makeup artist for my wedding and I never looked back.

I just bought this and I really like it! it feels much lighter than the lancome foundation that I've always used.
