I know I've asked this before, but brand new mommies....
How did you find the time to work out with a young baby?
I'll be picking up my baby from daycare around 4:30 - then I'll probably be busy with him/her, cleaning the house, etc for a few hours... DH comes home very late from work.... I belong to a kickboxing gym that has classes at 7:30 and 8:30, and a lot of women bring their babies with them, but I'm thinking between working all day and sleep dep, I'll not be getting much of a workout....
And forget about going to the regular gym to do weights - we do have weights at home, so I'll probably have to do something when the baby goes to sleep - but how do ladies of young infants go back to a regular work out routine, or is the answer "we don't!"

To be honest, I haven't been able to work out at all since DS was born. I've been trying to do a lot of walking as my exercise.

I joined a pilates class one night a week and I do stuff with Molly like long walks. It's hard to find time to do everything but I think an exercise class or two where you can just go and get away, is very important.

I find it is best to change your workout to include the baby....like go for long walks when you get home....good for you and the baby likes it too
Or i use her as my "weight"...lift her up and down....she has a ball

i am contemplating getting a personal trainer that will come to the house. i have no time to actually go to the gym (you know eric's scheduel LOL!) i do walk as much as i can with hannah. sometimes i will take her to mall on a rainy day just so i can get out and move.

Re: I know I've asked this before, but brand new mommies....
I'm lucky because my mom watches DS. So on days I work out after work, DH picks up DS from my mom's and I go straight to exercise class from work. DH works later than I do, so I am lucky that I can leave DS at my mom's later than I probably could at a daycare center.

Re: I know I've asked this before, but brand new mommies....
In the beginning we used to take walks around the neighborhood. But honestly I didn't have the energy to exercise until DS started sleeping through the night and if I was working I'm sure there is no way I would ever find the time to exercise. Since I'm a SAHM I either go on the elliptical machine while DS naps or I go to a stroller exercise class that way I can bring DS with me.

Re: I know I've asked this before, but brand new mommies....
I haven't found the time yet and I really need to because I know it'll help w/being so tired all the time. I could do it at 8:30PM or wake up at 5am (yeah right!) It's hard to find time, but I gotta figure something out soon...
