i know nothing about makeup... help
i don't wear makeup. not because i don't like it... it's because i am nothing but lazy.
i'm going to have my makeup done for this weekend.
i have red hair
i will be wearing a red and black dress
i have hazel eyes
i have hooded eyelids
i was thinking of going with a smokey eye and a nude lip.
my question is...
i've read a lot that purple eye shadow makes hazel eyes look good.
would some kind of purple into the smokey eye work? or should i stick with blacks and dark grays?
any help will be greatly appreciated.

Yes!
I'm makeup challenged as well, but i have hazel eyes and ALWAYS wear some sort of dark purple. When i've had a smokey eye done, its usually been dark eggplant/burgandy purples and it looks good

I have red hair and hazel eyes and purple really makes the green in them pop. Last time I had my make-up done was my TTD shoot and it looked phenomenal.
ETA: Here's some pics from it. Many years younger and many pounds lighter.

I have brownish auburn hair and green eyes and I’ve had so many makeup artists put purple on me and I hate it. I don’t know if it’s my skin tone or what but it’s not a good look on me.
But it looks gorgeous on Momma so if your hair is closer to her color I would give it a try! The makeup artist should be able to steer you in the right direction.

Thank you but I assure you I look nothing like this in real life. This was 8 (!!! AHH) years ago with the magic of a kick ass make-up artist and amazing photographer.

Thank you but I assure you I look nothing like this in real life. This was 8 (!!! AHH) years ago with the magic of a kick ass make-up artist and amazing photographer.

Well I got no comment on the makeup since any attempt I make has me looking like a drag queen on a bender but I just stopped by to say damn I think I got a lady stiffie!

Lovemore did my wedding pics. I have never before or since looked as good as I do in their pics.
